I have to say Simms makes some of the best gear out there.  These G4Z prove that point again.

Some of the nicer features includes:

5 layer gortex over the normal wear and tear areas, those patented front and back leg seams for comfort, 4mm high density neoprene stockingfoot and my favourite is the waterproof center zipper.  The zipper down the front is fantastic and makes these way easier to put on and take off.  It’s nice not having to do the wader dance when you get in or out of these…

Recently updated as of September 2007 the new Simms G3 sport a high-tech GORE-TEX Pro Shell – its supposed to be tougher and more breatheable than the older GORE-TEX shell.  How tough you ask?  Well in the immersion test they simply stopped at the 544 hour mark.   Other brands started failing after 2 hours right on up to 100 hours.  With that being said they also have the 5 layer fabric covering the legs and butt.  Now simms has you covered!  The rest of the fabric is a nice 3 layer material.  I was concerned about the extra layering and how comfortable it would be to kneel down or even bend your knees.  With the stitching along the front and back it is actually quite surprising how comfortable movement is.  These are truly high performance waders.  I have to say after one afternoon wearing these waders that these are some of the best waders available dollar for dollar.  They are comfortable for all day wear and come with some really cool bonuses as well.  The chest pocket has hand covers that are fleecy and warm on the inside, flip out tippet tender and retractable clip, Deet and saltwater resistant, nice gravel guards and feet material.  I have to say the contruction is also top notch.

The Simms warranty is also very good. Workmanship and materials are Guaranteed for the life of the product – of course this doesn’t cover the normal things like accidents, improper care and normal wear and tear.

30 day across the counter warranty exchange – this is a great reason to go buy them and fish the hell out of them right when you get them.

Now here is the best one the first repair is on Simms – if they are damaged in an accident within the first year.  Who else does that?

All in all some of the best days of my life have been spent wearing Simms waders – thank you guys keep up the good work.
