What a beautiful rod from Tom Morgan paired with a gorgeous Janciuras reel. Some great shots in the video of both if these treasures. The video is by Outside’s Go magazine and features host Ryan Crowick. Tom Morgan is a Montana based rod smith and was one of the owners of the R.L Winston Rod Company. The Rod’s produced by Tom Morgan are in a calibre all it’s own. Each and every one is tuned to perfection before it is let loose on the river. More to come about Tom Morgan Rods…

Review of the New (for 2009) Scott A3 Fly Rod

Review of the New (for 2009) Scott A3 Fly Rods and Harry discusses where he feels they would best suit his fly fishing needs. A nice entry level rod a bit firmer than the g2 series. Very versatile. The A3 in the lighter weights have a very sensitive tip as well. Medium fast action available in a 2 piece or 4 and available in the 3-10 weight. Nice performance value rod for the money American hand built quality. MSRP ranges from 295$ for the 2 pieces to 495 for the travel 4 pieces. The Scott A3 fly rod is affordable but personally I prefer action of the G2 but at half the price in some cases it makes its own statement.

Intermediate modulus graphite single layup rod

good quality cork

the real seat is a machined aluminum anodized silver

super hard chrome snake guides with SiC stripping guides

Same lifetime warranty as the rest of the Scott quality rods.

Ok I finally tried one out and it is lighter than the XP and a retty forgiving rod even on longer casts. If you like fast action rods give this one a try.
